Lawatan ini terdiri daripada 22 orang pegawai pengembangan dari Pejabat Pertanian Daerah Batu Pahat. Projek yang dilawati ialah Projek Ladang Lengkuas di Kampung Parit Jerman, Pontian. Pengusaha ladang lengkuas ialah Encik Mohd Nor bin Mapak yang telah memulakan projek pertanian semenjak tahun 1983. Beliau mengusahakan tanaman lengkuas mas merah seluas 40 ekar. Tempoh penghasilan lengkuas selama setahun setengah. 1 rumpun lengkuas mas merah boleh menghasilkan sebanyak 5 &#8211; 8 kg lengkuas. Harga RM 3.20 \/ kg harga borong yang diambil oleh pemborong dari Batu Pahat. Anggaran pendapatan beliau bagi sekali kutip hasil ialah RM 70 &#8211; 80 ribu.
